<title>Preparing Your Motorcycle For Winter Riding</title>
    <link>https://www.cradleykawasaki.com/about/news/preparing-your-motorcycle-for-winter-riding</link>
<description>As the mercury dips and the frosty season beckons, it&#039;s time to talk about prepping your beloved motorcycle for winter riding. Yes, you heard that right winter riding! Because why should the joy of motorcycling be limited to just the warmer months? With the right preparation, winter rides can be just as exhilarating, offering a whole new perspective on the roads we love. Lets dive into how you can enjoy the winter on your bike safely and comfortably.

Dress Appropriately

First things first, gear up. Dressing appropriately is the best way to minimise heat loss and enjoy your ride. Think layers several thin layers of modern clothing designed to shield you from the extreme cold. Remember, your clothes are your only protection against the elements. An extra base layer underneath your riding gear can make a huge difference.

While it might sound like something your mum would say, its crucial to wrap up warm. When temperatures drop below 10C, riding a motorcycle starts to affect your body more than you realise. Invest in a high-quality pair of winter gloves, and make sure they fit snugly under the cuffs of your jacket. A neck warmer tucked into your jacket collar can also be a game-changer.

If youre riding in fog or after dark, high-visibility clothing with reflective layers is a must to make yourself as visible as possible to other road users.

Ensure Visibility

Visibility is key. Scratched visors can turn oncoming headlights into blinding starbursts, while misted-up visors are downright dangerous. Fit a pin-lock visor insert and adjust it for a snug fit to forget about visor misting. After every trip, clean your visor with kitchen roll soaked in water and dry it carefully with a soft cloth. A defogging agent for your visor can also be a great addition to ensure clear visibility.

Check Tyre Depth

Winter roads can be tricky with snow, ice, and slush. Ensure your tyres are up to the challenge with a good tread depth. The legal minimum depth is 1mm, so you should be well above that. Colder temperatures can also reduce tyre pressures, so make it a habit to check these before each journey.

Check Motorcycle Liquids

Maintain your engine&#039;s health by regularly changing its oil. Over time, oil gathers harmful contaminants that accelerate corrosion and contribute to early engine deterioration. Start by warming up the engine to loosen the oil, then thoroughly drain the old oil before replenishing it with the specific viscosity grade advised in your vehicle&#039;s manual.

Remember to monitor your anti-freeze levels too. Contemporary, liquid-cooled engines rely heavily on the efficiency of the coolant in their radiators. Adhere strictly to the manufacturer&#039;s guidelines for changing the coolant to ensure optimal performance.

Check Your Battery

Bike batteries have a tough time over the winter months, as lower temperatures slow the chemical reaction. So its best to give batteries an easier time on the road and make sure your battery is charged before heading out.

Lubricate Your Bike Chain

Your motorcycles chain is the spine of the bike in many ways, enabling movement by transferring power to the rear wheel, so its crucial its taken care of. Regularly clean and lubricate your bikes drive chain, or risk damaging it. Lubricate it at least weekly if being used, and always do it AFTER riding. This lets the lubricant seep into all the gaps rather than being flung off immediately.

Riding in the Snow

If you&#039;re daring enough to ride in snow and ice, consider snow chains over regular tyres. This can prevent your bike from getting stuck.

Ride Responsibly

Winter roads are not the place to push your bike&#039;s limits. Opt for a slower pace and watch your distance. Braking distances are doubled on wet roads and multiplied tenfold on icy roads. Even in mild weather, watch out for ice patches or black ice. Stick to main roads as they&#039;re more likely to be gritted.

Have Breakdown Cover

Accidents can happen, and you do not want to be stuck in freezing conditions without appropriate cover. Ensure you have breakdown cover for peace of mind.

Make sure your bike is winter-ready with a MOT and service from Cradley Kawasaki. Were an official Kawasaki dealership, supplier and servicer based in Cradley Heath, Birmingham and have been this way for five decades, making us one of the oldest Kawasaki-approved motorbike shops in the UK. Our workshop has a vivid passion for keeping motorcycles in top condition and maintaining their health, so you can get the most enjoyment out of your beloved machine. Reach out to us with either a general enquiry, reserving a bike, setting up a part exchange or booking a test drive today.

    <title>Kawasaki Z H2 Review | Cradley Kawasaki</title>
    <link>https://www.cradleykawasaki.com/about/news/kawasaki-z-h2-reviewcradley-kawasaki</link>
<description>If you&#039;ve ever dreamed of owning a motorcycle that not only roars with power but also turns heads with its striking appearance, then you&#039;re in for a treat. In this deep dive, we&#039;ll unravel the secrets of the Kawasaki Z H2, exploring its dynamic design, heart-pounding performance, and unexpected practicality.

Design

The Kawasaki Z H2 is a naked superbike that boasts a bold and aggressive design aimed to captivate motorcycle enthusiasts. With its sharp lines, angular shapes, and exposed engine components, this bike exudes confidence and power. At the front, you&#039;ll find a commanding LED headlight and distinctive ram-air intakes, while the sculpted side panels proudly display the Z H2&#039;s robust engine. The tail section is short and stubby, complemented by a high-mounted exhaust that not only looks sleek but also contributes to the bike&#039;s agility.

Available in two striking colour schemes - Metallic Matte Graphene Steel Gray and Metallic Matte Spark Black - both options feature the iconic Kawasaki green accents on the wheels, frame, and bodywork. However, the Z H2&#039;s design isn&#039;t just for show. Those sharp lines and angular shapes aren&#039;t merely aesthetic choices; they enhance the bike&#039;s aerodynamics, ensuring a smooth and controlled ride. The exposed engine components play a functional role too, promoting optimal cooling during your adventures on the road. Additionally, the high-mounted exhaust lowers the bike&#039;s centre of gravity, making it incredibly responsive and agile.

The Z H2&#039;s thoughtful design includes a large LED headlight for superior visibility, adding to its practicality and safety. And let&#039;s not forget the innovative ram-air intakes that enhance engine performance, making every ride an exhilarating experience.

Performance

At the heart of this beast lies a supercharged 998cc inline-four engine, boasting a staggering 200 horsepower and 101 lb-ft of torque. To put it simply, the Z H2&#039;s power-to-weight ratio rivals that of some of the most elite sports bikes in the market, making it a true powerhouse on two wheels.

But the Z H2 isn&#039;t just about raw numbers; it&#039;s a marvel on the road. Picture this: 0 to 60 mph in a mere 2.8 seconds and a top speed that soars beyond 170 mph. Whether you&#039;re craving a lightning-fast acceleration or a heart-pounding high-speed experience, this motorcycle has got you covered. What sets the Z H2 apart is not only its brute force but also its exceptional agility and ease of handling. Thanks to its well-balanced chassis and suspension, navigating winding roads becomes an absolute joy.

Underneath the sleek design, you&#039;ll find a centrifugal supercharger, similar to the ones found in high-performance cars like the Bugatti Veyron. This supercharger ensures optimal efficiency, delivering an impressive boost at high RPMs. The Z H2&#039;s lightweight trellis frame and aluminium swingarm contribute to its nimbleness, enhancing handling and manoeuvrability. Moreover, this powerhouse comes equipped with a suite of electronic rider aids, including traction control, launch control, and cornering management. These features aren&#039;t just extras; they&#039;re your trusty companions, keeping you safe and in control, especially when you decide to push the limits.

Practicality

Surprisingly comfortable and remarkably easy to handle, the Z H2 welcomes riders with an upright position, a cushy seat, and a stable, long wheelbase. And here&#039;s the cherry on top: a suite of electronic aids including traction control, wheelie control, and launch control. These features transform it into a practical choice for your touring adventures or leisurely weekend escapades, making it stand tall among other supernaked motorcycles.

When it comes to fuel efficiency, the Z H2 manages an average of 35 mpg, which isn&#039;t too shabby for a supercharged marvel. Of course, your mileage may vary based on your riding style, dipping a bit if you tend to rev it up in the higher RPM range. In terms of comfort, the Z H2 surprises for a supernaked bike. Picture a wide, plush seat and a relaxed, upright riding position, although its weight can be noticeable during those extended journeys.

In the realm of storage, it offers a modest underseat compartment and a removable passenger seat ready to accommodate a tail bag. While it might not be your go-to choice for cross-country travels, it&#039;s enough for those short getaways.

The Kawasaki Z H2 is a bike that invites you to experience exhilaration and functionality in one package. Its bold design is more than just eye candy; it&#039;s a testament to aerodynamic excellence and functional ingenuity. When it comes to performance, the Z H2 shatters boundaries, delivering a ride that&#039;s as thrilling as it is smooth.

If you&#039;ve found your heart racing at the mere thought of taking the Z H2 for a spin, why not turn that excitement into reality? Contact us today to make an enquiry, reserve your dream bike, or boost your adrenaline with a test drive. Seize the handlebars and let the Kawasaki Z H2 redefine your riding experience.

    <title>Motorcycle Servicing Explained</title>
    <link>https://www.cradleykawasaki.com/about/news/motorcycle-servicing-explained</link>
    <description>
Discover the details of motorcycle servicing and how it cares for your bike long-term.

Youve bought a gorgeous new motorcycle, but while youre enjoying it, your attention should also be focused on getting it serviced regularly. After all, maintenance can be the difference between uninterrupted riding and getting stranded on the roadside.

In this comprehensive guide, we&#039;ll dive deep into the intricate details of motorcycle servicing at Cradley Kawasaki. Ever wondered what&#039;s covered in a full motorcycle service? Curious about how servicing impacts the performance and health of your bike? Or maybe you&#039;re wondering about the ideal frequency for those crucial check-ups? We answer these questions and more to ensure you&#039;re well-informed and your motorcycle stays in pristine condition.

What is Included in a Full Motorcycle Service?

Every workshop or garage has a slight variation on what is included in a full service, but at Cradley Kawasaki, our expertly-trained technicians go through the below process to service a motorcycle.

Firstly, the motorcycle undergoes an oil change and a top-up of coolant. Other engine checks include changing over several wearable engine parts to newer editions where necessary, including an oil filter, air filter and spark plugs.

After the initial oil and engine checks, the motorcycle&#039;s chassis and braking system are meticulously inspected. We remove the brake calipers to give them a thorough cleaning, and the brake pistons are carefully degreased. The hydraulic brake fluid system undergoes rigorous checks, and based on its condition, we either top it up or replace it entirely.

All control cables, along with the levers and pivots for the throttle, clutch, and brakes, are cleaned and properly lubricated. Necessary adjustments to the throttle and clutch are performed to guarantee smooth operations, and also we ensure the battery&#039;s electrolyte level is sufficient, topping up when required.

Further on, we examine both the front fork and rear suspension to check their operational status, giving due attention to all fasteners, including those for engine mounting and the chassis. When necessary, we also adjust components such as wheel bearings, tire pressure, chain, fuel hose, main stand, side stand and headlights.

Finally, the motorbike is subjected to a road test to check that the final serviced machine is in full working condition.

At Cradley Kawasaki, our servicing procedure is undertaken with high-tech diagnostic equipment managed by specialised technicians. For more information about how we service your bike, take a look at our workshop page.

What Effect Does Servicing Have On Your Motorcycle?

Regular motorcycle servicing will allow mechanics to spot and address problems sooner rather than later. After a service, your motorcycle will see an improved performance if parts are repaired, and over time, your motorcycles life span will increase, meaning you can put more miles on the tarmac or sell it for a higher value if the time comes to move on from your motorcycle.

How Often Should You Service Your Motorcycle?

At the bare minimum, we recommend servicing should occur once a year to maintain your motorcycles health. Coming in for lighter, more regular services (every six months, for example) will put your bike in even better condition. With the Kawasaki K-Care plan, you can tailor your servicing routine to make the most out of your Kawasaki ownership experience.

It is worth noting that in the UK, motorcycles are required to be serviced as part of an MOT test every year after they turn three years old. But for motorbike enthusiasts who really love their motorbike, taking it in more than this is not only an option but a necessity.

The Kawasaki K-Care Service Plan

For Kawasaki bike owners, there is a comprehensive way to guarantee regular servicing with quality aftercare. As a reputable Kawasaki dealership and workshop, Cradley Kawasaki offers the K-Care Service Plan which allows owners to tailor and benefit from additional servicing for their bikes after their warranty finishes. We create a plan that is tailored to your model and projected mileage so you can get the right amount of Kawasaki servicing for your ownership requirements.

For a monthly fee, you get access to our top-calibre Kawasaki-trained technicians and genuine Kawasaki parts, not only for your scheduled services but whenever you need them for emergencies too. To learn more about the Kawasaki K-Care service plan, visit this page.

Looking to upgrade or switch to a Kawasaki motorcycle? Few dealerships have the illustrious relationship with the brand in the UK as Cradley Kawasaki. Were an official Kawasaki dealership, supplier and servicer based in Cradley Heath, Birmingham and have been this way for five decades, making us one of the oldest Kawasaki-approved motorbike shops in the UK. <title>Kawasaki Z900RS Review</title>
    <link>https://www.cradleykawasaki.com/about/news/kawasaki-z900rs-review</link>
<description>The new Kawasaki Z900RS masterfully marries the nostalgic charm of 1970&#039;s caf racers with today&#039;s innovations and conveniences.

The new Kawasaki Z900RS is new and classic all at once. This model is a tribute to the caf racers of the 1970s, a class of bikes in which the Japanese brand reigned supreme back then with the hugely influential Z1.

In the 50 years that have passed, this generation of bikes has really started to show its age with outdated mechanics. But what if you could have the rose-tinted experience of driving a Z1 with the modern advancements that have made motorcycles far easier, speedier and comfier? Thats what the Kawasaki Z900RS is all about.

Theres a grand history to live up to, but does the Kawasaki Z900RS do it? We look at its design, performance, comfort and practicality to find out.

Design

Design is perhaps the most important aspect of a bike like this, and Kawasaki has hit it out of the park in this regard. The Z900RS is so easy on the eyes, with an adorably large round headlight, pure chrome headers and deep, glossy paint (which is an upgrade from the regular Z900). Some parts of the design have a tangible effect on the riding experience, too, such as the unique circular mirrors that give you greater rearview and the exposed engine design that means you get to hear a low, brooding grumble-gargle from the exhaust.

All of this works hand-in-hand with more current-day technologies like water cooling, fuel injection, 6-speed transmission and ABS brakes. When you sit down, youll be looking at a retro dual-dial HUB setup that displays 70-style large numbers on a crisp LCD screen. As with everything else on the Z900RS, the blend between the old and new is tasteful.

Performance

In the hands of the Kawasaki Z900RS, you feel like you can turn on the power at any given moment and it will race with glee. At just 215kg in curb mass, this bike is well-balanced and lightweight enough to make handling very grippy and nimble low-speed riding.

The liquid-cooled, 4-stroke engine can deliver up to 6,500rpm in torque, and the way it moves from a breath to a roar to an almighty scream is hair-raising and all thanks to the open engine design.

Youll be using perfectly serviceable Dunlop Sportmax Tyres, which neither improves nor detracts from the performance. One thing that does arguably detract is the classic furnishings; at higher speeds or forceful headwinds, the lack of modern flarings on the bodywork does mean its a more challenging ride. But if youre going for the authentic vintage experience, youre likely prepared to face that.

Comfort

The Kawasaki Z900RS gets major plus points in the comfort department. For one, the seat is broad, level, deeply cushioned and has ribbed detailing for extra comfort. But its the considered position of the seat that pushes it to be one of the most comforting out there. Its positioned higher than what youd expect, but it means your legs arent compacted into a tight triangle like on a sports bike, giving your body room to breathe as you ride. With the footpegs in a natural position and a featherlight clutch lever, this bike is just as breezy as youd want it to be.

Practicality

While youre hardly going to be going for a bike such as this for fuel economy or practicality, the Kawasaki Z900RS is at least considerate to its passengers. Fuel economy sits at around 45mpg with a range of 170 miles, so youll never be short on reserve.

In terms of equipment, theres a switch on the handlebar that alters the traction control settings from normal to a more rain-suited option. Plus, you can turn it off altogether by holding it down.

Conclusion

The Kawasaki Z900RS masterfully marries the nostalgic charm of 1970&#039;s caf racers with today&#039;s technological utilities. Its performance is exhilarating, with its lightweight frame offering nimble handling, and its engine delivering a captivating range of sounds. The seating and ergonomics are outstandingly comfortable, allowing riders to relax during long journeys. Although not primarily designed for practicality, it offers reasonable fuel economy and user-friendly traction control settings. The Z900RS is a brilliant fusion of Kawasaki&#039;s rich history and contemporary innovations.

If youre desperate to have a Kawasaki Z900RS of your very own, there are no finer experts in the UK than at Cradley Kawasaki an official Kawasaki dealership, supplier and service based in Cradley Heath, Birmingham. With five decades of history, it is one of the oldest Kawasaki-approved motorbike shops in Birmingham and indeed the UK, and were still at the forefront of their famous range.

Check out our range of new bikes today and see how a brand-new bike from Cradley Kawasaki will change your riding experience. Reach out to our team to make a general enquiry, reserve a bike, set up a part exchange or book a test drive.

    <title>Kawasaki Z650 Review</title>
    <link>https://www.cradleykawasaki.com/about/news/kawasaki-z650-review</link>
<description>The Kawasaki Z650 makes the rush of a track-going motorbike accessible to beginners, and its quality could convince enthusiasts to drop down to this class.

In the spectrum of two-wheeled steel, not every bike fits neatly into a single category. The Kawasaki Z650 is one such example, but its for this very reason that it has an unshakeable allure. With its lean, athletic build, it straddles a fine line between a beginners bike and a more seasoned riders middleweight maverick.

Japanese motorbike powerhouse Kawasaki has designed the Z650 based on a slim, compact silhouette to house a masterclass in design balance, as the model all but eliminates the intimidation of bulk while maintaining the heart-throbbing power. Alongside its rivals in the Suzuki SV650 and Yamaha MT-07, they make up the big three of the middleweight class. Kawasaki has attempted to surge ahead of the pack recently with new upgrades for the Z650, but do its improvements put them in front? We look at the three main areas of biking - design, performance and practicality - to find out.

Design

With a naked design, the Kawasaki Z650 excels in making upright seating feel comfortable. Too often, upright bikes strain your back on long journeys thanks to its propped-up seating position, but the Kawasaki Z650s low seating, paired with capable suspension that prevents excessive vibrating, gives you comfort and confidence on the road.

Kawasaki fans can appreciate the signature Sugomi styling. Meaning aggressiveness, Sugomi is the design language that defines the Japanese bikemakers Z series and its presence here shows that just because its a beginners bike, it doesnt mean it has to look friendly. The flared, puffed-out stylings on the front look like something out of a Christopher Nolan-directed Batman film. Match this with the Kawasaki Z650s choice of colour style - metallic black or grey with small accents of green or red depending on which scheme you choose - and it gives an air of menace.

Performance

Equipped with a 650cc Parallel Twin engine, the Kawasaki Z650 is a road-suitable bike that performs well on the track should you visit regularly. It carries 48.5 lb-ft of torque which beefs up the rev sensitivity and makes you feel like you&#039;re really taking off when you accelerate. But with the newly-added traction control system, controlling the bike is a breeze even when traversing more uneven and unpredictable terrain.

The bike has a curb weight of 188kg, much lighter than other bikes in its class, and with a set of Dunlop Sportmax Roadsport 2 tyres, the sense of lightness carries into the handling.
Its an utter pleasure to experience its precision.

Practicality

Practicality is likely not the main priority when looking for a Kawasaki bike to have fun in, but the company has thought of ways to improve the riders quality of life. For one, the fuel capacity is 15L, and with a fuel economy of around 50mpg thanks to an upgraded exhaust system, this means you can travel almost 200 miles on a single tank.

Its narrow handlebars mean you can squeeze into smaller spaces, making it convenient for lane splitting, and the addition of ABS furthers its case as a top pick for a beginners bike.

One of the standout features of a bike in this class is the digital dashboard with an ultra-responsive, full-colour speed gauge. Bright and easy to read even in sunlight, the stark black dash design is a fluid continuation of the bodywork. Plus, smartphone connectivity allows you to carry a host of ride statistics with you and share them with your motorbike cohort.

The Kawasaki Z650 is a grand choice for those who want to feel the rush of motorcycling while still having enough stability for newbies. With its new upgrades, the Z650 makes the rush of a track-going motorbike accessible to a greater number of people while having enough quality of life to convince even advanced motorbike enthusiasts to drop down to this class.

    <title> New Ninja ZX-6R for 2024 Kawasaki range </title>
    <link>https://www.cradleykawasaki.com/about/news/new-ninja-zx-6r-for-2024-kawasaki-range</link>
    <description>

An iconic name appears in the Kawasaki motorcycle range for the 2024 sales season with the announcement of a new Ninja ZX-6R and its tagline Supersport Obsession.

Boasting a number of features not so far seen on the much-loved Supersport middleweight in previous iterations, the 2024 model has both technical and styling updates ready to satisfy the needs of even the most demanding street or track day rider. And with the aid of Kawasakis iconic Ram Air system a stunning maximum of 95.2 kW {129 PS} is produced at 13,000 rpm.

The most obvious aspect of the new machine is the distinctive aero-winglet equipped Ninja face with purposeful aggressive lines incorporating for the first time hybrid projector/reflector headlights (part of a complete LED lighting package), and a new sports windshield equipped with special cut outs to reduce buffeting. The entire bodywork for 2024 uses interwoven layers to create a 3D effect, with the multiple layers adding to a high-class design.

In terms of the cockpit area, a new 4.3inch (11cm) colour TFT meter makes its debut and also facilitates Smartphone connectivity via Kawasakis Rideology App. Information updates such as a shift light, Kawasaki service reminder, oil change reminder, Riding Mode indicator, Smartphone call and mail notices are all available. Also featured along with all the familiar vehicle status updates are a Bluetooth indicator and an Economical Riding Indicator.

From a technical perspective, the famous and highly praised 636 cm3 liquid-cooled, 4-stroke in-line four forms the core of the machine and now features revised cam profiles to satisfy stricter emission regulations plus revised intake funnels and revised header and collector pipes all combining to benefit low- to mid-rpm performance.

A move to round over petal discs reflects the current Ninja ZX-10R family image while such items as the SFF-BP (Separate function fork with big piston), KQS Kawasaki Quick Shifter, three mode KTRC traction control and both power modes and integrated riding modes underpin the high specification of this Supersport legend.

Rolling on Pirelli Diablo Rosso IV tyres, the 2024 Ninja ZX-6R will be available in two colourways for the upcoming season, a green version (naturally!) in Lime Green/Ebony plus a more stealth version combining Metallic Graphite Gray and Metallic Diablo Black. For sure Kawasaki dealers and loyal fans of the Ninja family will welcome the sight of a new and comprehensively updated Ninja ZX-6R for 2024 keeping the Ninja flame burning brightly.

The 2024 Ninja ZX-6R will be available from October and priced at 10,599.

<title>Kawasaki covers the 400cc class bases in 2023</title>
    <link>https://www.cradleykawasaki.com/about/news/kawasaki-covers-the-400cc-class-bases-in-2023</link>
<description>As the naked style category continues to expand in size and popularity, the Z400 will ably fulfil the need for a Z model for A2 licence holders fashioned in the same style as its Sugomi styled Z siblings. 2022 has witnessed celebrations highlighting 50 years of the famous Z range providing a springboard for the re-introduction of the Euro5 compliant Z400 complete with its 399 cm3 parallel twin water-cooled engine delivering 33.4 kW (45PS) and 37 N.m (3.8kg-m) of torque at 8,000 rpm.

Complete with an assist and slipper clutch and a trellis frame mirroring the chassis of the range-leading Z H2, the Z400 provides a big bike personality in a manageable package for those making their way up the capacity ladder or those who feel the 400cc class is their ideal destination.

A seat height of 785 mm contributes towards admirable manoeuvrability while Kawasakis unique ERGO-fit optional seat enhances riding comfort for taller riders, making the Z400 the most logical choice in class.

Track focused fans also have good reason to rejoice in 2023 as the range partner for the Z model will be the highly popular Ninja 400. The base machine for race and Championship winning machinery in the highly competitive WorldSSP300 Championship, the handling and performance credentials of the Ninja need no further amplification. The chosen mount of current champion, Adrian Huertas, the new 2023 Ninja 400 shares its A2 licence compliance with the Z400 along with a tubular trellis chassis and powerful 286mm front disc brake coupled with an equally effective 193mm rear rotor.

Ninja style never goes out of fashion and the Ninja 400 revels in its family resemblance to the mighty Ninja ZX-10R, a machine that has achieved unparalleled levels of WorldSBK Championship success. And like its Ninja big brother, the 400-class machine also features an assist and slipper clutch facilitating smooth gear down changes and a 20% lighter lever pull at the handlebar.

Anticipation for the re-introduction of not one but two A2 licence compliant 400cc class machines in Euro5 specification will build towards their addition to a comprehensive range for the 2023 model year creating tough yet enjoyable choice for prospective owners. Naked style or Ninja style, Kawasaki has the 2023 mid-capacity class bases covered.

Both machines will be available from mid-August with the prices to be confirmed.

    <title>Z1 to Z50 – Kawasaki celebrates half a century of the Z family</title>
    <link>https://www.cradleykawasaki.com/about/news/z1-to-z50kawasaki-celebrates-half-a-century-of-the-z-family</link>
<description>The dynamic Sugomi styling of the Z900 has won many fans since its introduction with an unapologetic aggressive attitude matched to dynamic and responsive riding feedback that only a Z could possess. The 50th anniversary editions of the Supernaked Z900 is clad in the Firecracker Red of the Z1100GP, the dominant air-cooled Z model of the 1980s. This hue of red also found on the legendary GPZ900R was Kawasakis signature colour of the time. As another high-class touch, the fork outer tubes are finished in gold and the frame in gloss black. Incorporating TFT colour instrumentation with Smartphone connectivity, the Z900 includes integrated power modes, KTRC traction control and power mode selection (Full/Low) as well as all-LED lighting.

The A2-friendly Z650 with its narrow chassis and responsive parallel twin-cylinder engine is a firm favourite among riders of all experience levels. Equipped with an LED headlight, a TFT display and Smartphone connectivity, the Z650 energizes the senses and inspires every ride. The vivid red paint, was specially blended for these anniversary models, making their aggressive Supernaked Z styling even more striking. The dark blue and silver highlights accentuate the red and like models of the time, the Z emblem and Kawasaki logo are finished in gold, further distinguishing these models from their standard counterparts. Add red wheels, with silver pinstripes, special seat leather and a commemorative Z 50th logo on the front fender and the package is complete.

Expanding the boundaries of the Retro Sport scene further still, Kawasaki returned to the roots of the Z brand, choosing the iconic Fireball pattern of the original Z1 for the 50th anniversary editions of the retro sport model Z900RS and Z650RS. A special painting process was developed specially for these models. The candy colours of the tank and bodywork are applied in layers to bring out a deep, glossy texture that enhances the inherent beauty of these machines. Complementing the rich colouring, the frames of both machines are finished in gloss black and have a special seat leather with a texture distinct from the standard model, as well as different colour stitching. Both machines feature gold-coloured wheels and Double Overhead Camshaft emblems reminiscent of the past and proudly show the Z 50th logo on the top of the tank. Additionally, the left and right-side engine covers of the Z900RS feature a DOHC emblem.

It is rare indeed for a brand family to last a decade let alone five, yet the Kawasaki Z family moves from strength to strength. In 2022 that strength is made real by the presence of the five Z50 models forming part of a celebration bond between Kawasaki and its legion of loyal fans both established and new to the brand.
Heres to the next 50 years of Z !

<title>Kawasaki Racing Team announce “once in a lifetime Heritage Experience Auction”</title>
    <link>https://www.cradleykawasaki.com/about/news/kawasaki-racing-team-announce-once-in-a-lifetime-heritage-experience-auction</link>
<description>Following the worldwide response to the one-off KRT Superbike team heritage livery used at the Argentinian round of the World Superbike Championship in 2021, the Kawasaki Racing Team have created a unique experience combining a road going replica kit, matching leathers and track experience with KRT riders which will be auctioned on eBay starting on Wednesday 16 February.

With overwhelmingly positive feedback for both the machine that Jonathan Rea and Alex Lowes rode, the team have used a pair of fresh from the crate Ninja ZX-10RR machines which have been dismantled at the KRT workshop in Granollers near Barcelona and rebuilt as faithful replicas of the racing machines with the added advantage that they will be fully road legal.

For Alex the choice in Argentina was the red a black livery of the 1980s GPz900R, the first machine in the world to be called a Ninja and two-wheeled star of a famous Hollywood film. Complete with an RST race suit made for the event, Lowes topped the look off by wearing aviator style sunglasses in the pit box before satisfying his need for speed.

Jonathan fell in love with the re-imagining of the ZXR750-H style of 1990s as soon as he saw it; an era when the likes of Scott Russell, Robbie Phillis, Doug Chandler and Aaron Slight rode for the green team. Resplendent in his custom made Alpinestars leathers, the six-time WorldSBK Champion lined up on the grid and wound the clock back to a golden era of Superbike racing.
Only one of each style of machine has been created by the same mechanics that work on Rea and Lowes racing Ninja machines and each with be accompanied by an exclusive ownership package that includes a Certificate of Exclusivity from KRT. Each lucky buyer will be accommodated in a Barcelona hotel and be able to spend a day Barcelona-Catalunya circuit with the team and its hospitality as it tests at the end of March and will even have 30 minutes of track time allocated alongside the KRT riders!
And to ride their newly purchased pride and joy the winner of the GPz900R replica will receive a set of custom-made RST leathers while the lucky owner of the ZXR750 style machine will be kitted out with unique Alpinestars racing leathers. Befitting such a special event, each owner will be presented with a photographic and video record of the day which they will surely never forget.
In terms of specification, each Ninja ZX-10RR will be a new unit supplied by an official Kawasaki dealer and will feature the following heritage kit courtesy of KRT sponsor partners: Akrapovi Kawasaki Heritage Limited Edition slip-on silencer, Valter Moto brake protector and rear paddock stand, Puig track-day windscreen and swing-arm bobbins, GB Racing engine covers and a Kawasaki genuine accessory fabric bike cover.

Commenting, KRT Team Manager, Guim Roda, said:

This project was super successful in Argentina to celebrate Kawasakis heritage and the introduction of the River Mark worldwide brand logo. We received amazing feedback from other teams and riders as well as Kawasaki fans globally. Our reaction was to create an exclusive limited edition experience with this pair of unique road machines and offer a package that amounts to a once in a lifetime ownership experience. Our KRT mechanics loved working on the bikes, and we look forward to meeting the successful bidders at the Barcelona-Catalunya circuit when Johnny and Alex test in late March.

<title>Shunji Tanaka – farewell to the man behind the mask</title>
    <link>https://www.cradleykawasaki.com/about/news/shunji-tanakafarewell-to-the-man-behind-the-mask</link>
<description>One of the most influential motorcycle designers of recent times has sadly died at his home in Japan at the age of 75. In December 2021, Shunji Tanaka passed away and leaves a considerable legacy in terms of his influence on motorcycle design while Design Director for Kawasaki based at their factory in Akashi, near Kobe, Japan.

As an integral part of Kawasakis K-Tec design department, Tanaka-san played a significant part in the introduction of a fresh, new approach to the styling of Kawasaki motorcycles both in terms of the bodywork and overall appearance plus the adoption of so called signature colours which defined the machines during their launch phase.

Already a highly respected automotive designer before joining Kawasaki, Tanaka-san is credited with the design direction of the Mazda MX5, the worlds top selling two seat convertible ever in terms of volume of sales with production now exceeding one million units. Moving from four to two wheels did not intimidate Tanaka-san; in fact, the remit to create bold designs for Kawasaki which embodied the uncompromising performance personality of the company resulted in a series of machines with instant impact and lasting appeal.

Marshalling his design team into a mutually supportive group - one of the keys to Tanaka-sans success - was the democratisation of the design process with even the most junior team member having a voice and being able to contribute to the final finished product.

Applauded for his influence on the styling and visual appeal of the machines launched during his time as K-Tec design director, Tanaka-san was proud to be involved in the successful introduction of the water-cooled in-line four-cylinder Z1000 in 2003 with its distinctive quad exhaust system and angular lines and for overseeing the look of the dramatic and impressive 2004 Ninja ZX-10R and subsequent 2005 Ninja ZX-6R.

Creating a recognisable face for the machines his team were responsible for was no coincidence as Takana-san firmly believed that the personality of a motorcycle was determined by the upper cowl and headlamp area with the rest of the design flowing from, and influenced by, this crucial part of the styling exercise.

It is hardly surprising that among many and varied enthusiasms in his private life, that Shunji Tanaka had a passion for the Noh masks used in traditional Japanese theatre productions; each mask establishing the credentials and often complex personality of the character in the play.

Mercurial, thoughtful, and highly creative, Tanaka-san was an eminently approachable man whose evident enthusiasm for design was infectious. As a landmark along the considerable design journey that Kawasaki has taken and continues to this day - Shunji Tanaka will be remembered with considerable respect and affection.
